A day at the ranch!


Well today we went to the Ostrich Ranch. It was great fun. My dad had the 4 Baldons & I had my 3 along with the 3 Ott kids that I babysit.
Dawson was quite a champ in the Lorikeet's cage. Even when he wasn't too sure about his new "hat". He never cried, he instead was more curious about it all.

Cynthia really enjoyed all of the animals. Here she is feeding the deer. I had to really try to get her to look at me she was so into the deer.


We also brought along with us the Lorikeet whisperer apparently. They really liked my dad & he couldn't even get one off of him when he was done & trying to come out. It was pretty funny.






Here's Hunter feeding the deer. Alot of the kids were a little skittish after the Ostriches because they do bite & got Kaitlyn pretty good on the hand. But they soon realized that the deer were much more gentle when eating out of your hand.

Savannah & Cora feeding the deer. It was supposed to be in the 40's today (temperature wise), but it turned out much warmer, so that was nice.

I guess the birds really liked me since I had 2 containers of nectar, since Kaitlyn was scared when they landed on her head & Corwyn wasn't even willing to go in & give it a try.









Here's a great action shot caught by my dad with the Ostrich just taking the food out of Michael's hand. Michael was the bravest of them all!
Well nothing else of interest happened today. I'll enjoy my weekend though, after the kind of week I've had.

I love all the pictures! I also loved your blog on the more technical things. :-) That is what you have to do when you have that many kids huh?

A Fresh look.

Time again for one of those painting/decorating pangs to hit me. I put the kids down for naps & knew that I didn't want to do housework or sit at the computer or anything else that I normally would do with this quiet time to myself. Family Memories

It's totally weird & unexpected, but the 4 day vacation up to Show Low was one of our best vacations ever! Even Tim said that was true for him. It was nothing spectacular, just good, clean fun! Relaxing, yet not boring. Fun, yet not busy. And the kids all behaved & got along...maybe that's what made it awesome! Plus the fact that we hadn't done too much as a family for a year due to Tim's hospitalizations, sicknesses & lack of vacation time left. We went to a very fancy restaurant. Savannah had been learning in school about etiquette in a place like this, so she was able to practice it & keep the boys in line. This place also had a live band out back, so afterwards we went out there & sat around the fire and danced a little. We all played frisbee golf. My time to reminisce about Dawson.

No matter what I do, my children just keep getting older! I tell them they aren't allowed to. I don't give them big parties. Nothing works. :-0 I so vividly remember the first days with him in our family. Savannah & Hunter were thrilled to have a baby in our house. My little thumb sucker. I have to say, Dawson is just so full of life & personality & odd thoughts & sayings. He's very imaginative and thoughtful & caring and the next minute he's pestering someone out of their mind! He's unpredictable most of the time. He will always find the loop-hole to the rule & find a way to do something naughty that there wasn't a rule made up for yet.
