It's not every year that one can post on February 29th. So I thought I would take advantage of that. I don't know what else boys should or could be, but I'm glad that mine are "all boy" as they say. Well you could argue that Hunter isn't always...let's see his favorite "speed" bike to ride is the pink one with the baby seat...And there is how he cries EVERYTIME he falls down...also he does like to "mother" Dawson...but anyway, he's so sweet & sympathetic & helpful that it's great! And I will note he love any sports & naturally excels at them all, so there's just so many different ways to be "all boy". Don't you love stereotypes? (j/k) Well at least he likes to help Tim get the lawn mowed. And that 2nd handle thing is the perfect size for him. Now Dawson on the other hand...he's what you would call "all boy". Maybe even a "tough boy". See he chose the tractor over helping Dad...

Here is all the cars our family made. Savannah & Hunter really did most all of the painting & gluing on their cars. Yes I am not very good at coming up with stuff to make. Hence the 3 shot gun shell car. :-) the middle one is a real one that isn't loaded anymore. The other two I made to match. Here is Savannah's wagon all ready to race! Here's Hunter putting his car on the track. Here's Tim telling all the rules. He was the race commissioner this year. Hunter had to add weight to his car, so we added 3 shiny quarters. He thought it was great! Saturday we had our races. Hunter was so excited! Each kid got to race 4 times & he got 2 nd , every time until his last race when he got 1st & he was just yelling & punching in the air & jumping around, that he won. You would have thought that he had won the whole thing or something. He didn't even make it to the final race. But he was happy. All the pictures I took of him doing this came out blurry du...

On President's day I had the 3 Ott's & the 3 Rakoci's. It was a fun day. And it was so nice outside. Dawson decided if he can't ride the bike, then he should eat it. Hailey is a little spoiled so she was happiest when I just sat & held her. That is of course until I had to take care of one of the other 8 children...then she would cry again that I had put her down. oh well, that's life with babysittin' kids I guess. :-) I think she was blinking when Hunter took the picture, because she looks a little drunk I think. Well Dawson was standing on the edge of the toilet getting into what he could on the shelf, but by the time I got the camera, he had kind of gotten stuck in the toilet like this. He had to have a little help to get out.

Ok let's see how many of you can tell me who this is a picture of & when it might have been taken. Ok, this is Tim, in October of 1983. He's all dressed up for Halloween. Man Savannah sure looks like him! Hopefully she'll grow out of that and won't have quite the mustache he can get. :-) Here's another couple of fun ones. Do you know who these 2 boys are? This one is Dawson just this week. They do look like they could be brothers, huh. With those adorable chocolate brown eyes. The next one is Corwyn. I know, I said I wouldn't show his mother this picture of him eating straight, white sugar ice cream. But oh well. Ok, last one: Which one is Jared & which one is Clay? Well as you probably all know, the first one is Clay & the 2nd is Jared. I just thought it was neat to see the pictures side-by-side. They definetly look like they could be brothers...oh wait they are. :-)

If a picture if worth a thousand words, and then you add in what I have to say, this will be quite the wordy blog entry. We went Saturday and got our family pictures taken at Sears. The photographer was convinced that she would be able to get Dawson to smile, but I seriously had my doubts. I know that I post lots of pictures of him smiling, but if he's somewhere new or there's a new person there, then there's no way. People at church that see him every week always tell me that he's such a serious baby. Anyway, long story short, she didn't get him to smile, but he was very good & towards the end did make some sort of happy expression. So here are the pictures that we got... Ok you all will have to comment on which family picture you like best. It was really hard to decided which one to get for our wall. Savannah was such a ham during the pictures, it was quite funny. It just comes to natural to Hunter. He really couldn't stop smiling when the camera was on ...

I hope that you all are having a great Valentine's Day and are taking time to share how much you love those closest to you! We're having a good one here. There might be more to report later, but for now here's what we've got! Tim has gotten me 1 1/2 hour massage for Saturday afternoon at the same time as my sister is also getting one (gift from her husband). So that is really cool, and I am so excited! Then last night when I got home from taking Savannah to Tucson for a Valentine's party, here's what Tim had for me... He's so sweet! He doesn't usually buy me flowers so this was a pretty big surprise. Oh & when I got home he also had the boys in bed & I couldn'r resist the picture of Dawson just lying there sound asleep. This was really yummy the 2 times I've tried it so far. My dad had some the 2nd time & next thing I know my mom is calling for the recipe. And when Tim took it as leftovers to work one day, everyone there was drooling over it. So here it is for all to see...I got it out of The Taste of Home Magazine. Great magazine BTW. Prime Rib Dinner. 10 med. Carrots, divided 2 celery ribs, finely chopped 1 med. Onion, finely chopped 1 sm. Green pepper, finely chopped 4 cups water 2 tbs. browning sauce, divided 2 tbs. garlic powder 4 tsp seasoned pepper, divided 1 tbs. celery salt 1tbs. Worcestershire sauce 1 boneless beef rib roast (3 to 4 pounds) 8 med. Potatoes, cut into chunks. Finely chop two carrots; place in a greased roasting pan. Add celery, onion & green pepper. Combine the water, 1 tbs. browning sauce, garlic powder, 3 tsp. seasoned pepper, celery salt & Worcestershire sauce; pour over vegetables. Combine the remaining browning sauce & seasoned pepper, brush over roast...

Well I know I've been slow on my blog entries these days. But I'm such a visual person that I like to have pictures to go with everything I have to talk about. You see, that doesn't bode so well when everywhere neat I go I forget to grab the camera. I mean we have been to the Cerreta Candy Factory, Chuck E. Cheese (for the 1st time), Awana campfire, the Phoenix zoo & even Claim Jumper all just over these weekend. And not once did I have the camera. Fortunately though, I have some great friends & family took pictures for me or let me use their camera. For at least some of the fun! So Friday we went with the MiCasa homeschool group to Cerreta's. First the kids got to see the machines working & were told how they work, in the brief (& I mean this in the briefest way the word brief can be used) oral presentation. But then the fun began & they were given the project of creating their own heart-shaped pizza to make out of chocolate & various candies. N...

Weather is fun isn't it? Especially when there's children involved. Rain seems more exciting, fog seems surreal and sunny days are just glorious! Well Sunday it rained most of the day and again on Monday. But come Tuesday there were plenty of puddles to jump around in. Dawson went out front & discovered this after he did the whole, throw rocks in the water thing. I think boys just have to throw rocks if there's water...it's like in their blood. Anyway, here's Dawson stomping around in puddles. Hunter did resist for a few second longer, because he thought to ask first. What a good boy he is! And of course if you have a quad or some other kind of ATV you must take your brother for a ride through all of the puddles as well. Oh yes & Tuesday morning we had an amazing fog that rolled in & was there most the morning. Hunter even said "What if the fog comes in our house?". Well that didn't happen, though I did explain we would have a hard time fin...

Well I can't believe that January is already done & gone! But here we are starting off our February. It's cold here, it was almost down to freezing degrees today. So today we were doing some "excercises" to get us warm. Here is Dawson trying to do jumping jacks like us - pretty much it's just him walking around & clapping excitedly. And then of course it can always turn into just a tumbling match when there's 2 boys involved. And don't you just love dressing kids to match? I can't wait to have another girl to try & get some cute matching dresses. Then Hunter wanted to take a picture, so here is as far as his arm can reach & still take a picture with him in it. :-) So once we're warm enough, it's outside time!
