88 As a 1930s wife, I am Very Superior Take the test!

Ok so here is the start. Tim is off to camp & 3 of my sisters kids are here while she & her husband are also off to the same camp. This time though, they are taking their oldest child with them. So now it's going to be 8 days of me & 6 kids. No biggie. Today we went shopping at Target & Old Navy. ON had a great 1 day sale of $1 Flip-flops, so of course I had to get everybody a pair! The whole time I kept thinking I was missing someone because I'm so used to having Cynthia (my sisters oldest) with us too. So this next week the blog should be pretty busy with what we're up to so that the people gone to camp can come home & see that I didn't really just sit around reading all day & letting the kids terrorize the house. Ok , they probably don't think that, but whatever. We started out last night with them watching a movie. Then comes the "where are we gonna sleep" question. Not too bad, 3 girls in this room, the 2 older boys in a room...

Apparently you can't make hard boiled eggs in the microwave. After just a couple of minutes, they explode, throw the bowl out the door & stinks your kitchen to high heaven. So just don't do it. Even if you really need an excuse to clean your microwave, it's not worth it.

So Tim was the easiest to blog about. He has this new hobby of a fish tank. It is rather involved, more than I thought it would be anyway. First we got the 150 gallon tank. Then Tim & his dad made the stand. Next you fill it with rocks & plants & decorations. The water goes in & then you get to go to Petsmart & pick fish. Tim keeps adding/removing plants, decorations & adding fish & shrimp & frogs & sharks! Yes, these are the vicious sharks we have. :-) They will get up to a foot long, but that won't be for awhile. So yes, here is Tim adding some stuff to the tank. Sticking his hand into a tank full of sharks! My hero!

Yup, this one is once again about Dawson...amazing. I've decided that I'm going to do my next 2 blogs about the older 2 kids, they're not getting much of the spotlight lately. Oh & I'll do one with some of Tim's stuff on it too, so as not to leave anyone out. Anyway, back to Dawson. Well he's my first real mischief seeker. Not just that he gets in trouble, but he actually searches it out I am convinced. This morning we were a little late getting the older 2 kids to VBS due to some messes I had to clean up along the way. While I was helping Hunter put his laundry away I came out & found the puzzle cupboard like this: And no, Dawson can't just put them all back together & put them away. He's not quite that smart. So then I had to do Savannah's hair so she could be beautiful for VBS today. That's when Dawson found time to empty & explore my make-up bag. Which I caught him with only the lip-gloss open where-as last time he had alread...

Summertime is fun once you get home from all those summer camps & swim lessons & all that. But for the very young ones that stay home during that stuff, it just is a good time to relax with friends. Savannah & I went down the water-slide together. Hand-in-hand (as much as possible). But I seemed to have a problem stopping at the end & just kept right on going. It was a fun, wet day. All the kids have little raccoon eyes from their goggle-tans.

When Dawson gets up from bed I take his bear and put it up on a high shelf where the boys' clock is. A couple days ago I started noticing that he would have it during the day & just figured I had forgot to put it up. Until I secretly stood outside the door with the camera in hand. Here is the innocent beginning. Then somehow he got to the top of the dresser, without opening any drawers or anything. Just scaled it. The reach for the forbidden bear! Ah- hah ! I showed myself & he was caught red-handed! Have a great & curious day!
