Summer Time is Comin'!

Fun stories, but no pictures. I should just carry the camera with me everytime I check on Dawson & we'd have some good pictures too.
  1. Dawson loves to climb up on the stool when it's next to the counter & open the microwave. Well he decided to put his water gun inside & push a random button, which turned it on. I was close-by & heard the microwave so I came running & rescued the gun.
  2. Dawson also likes to turn water on. He climbed up onto the toilet in my back bathroom, turned the hot water all the way on after he had plugged the sink. So then I found him standing on his island of a toilet, the water running over & out the sink & my bathroom floor flooded.
I know it sounds like I never watch him, but these are things that are taking place literally in a matter of minutes. When is a mother to go to the bathroom? During naps only?

Oh & of course there's always his favorite of pulling every wipe or tissue out 1 at a time.

And during naps wouldn't really be any better these days, since he climbs out of his crib in 3.5 seconds. He likes to do it instead of napping, he likes to do it after napping, he likes to do it early in the morning (like 6am) and he likes most to climb out & then climb up to Hunter's bed & wake him up. Oh the joy of having 2 kids share a room.

Getting back to the title of the blog: we got our pool set up & our close friends brought over a water slide, so there's been lots of water fun, which is probably the best thing about summer.

For today I'll entice you with just the water-slide photos.

A Fresh look.

Time again for one of those painting/decorating pangs to hit me. I put the kids down for naps & knew that I didn't want to do housework or sit at the computer or anything else that I normally would do with this quiet time to myself. I did however feel the definite urge to do something creative, relaxing & with paint involved. So I casually go out to get the mail & then... bam ! Family Memories

It's totally weird & unexpected, but the 4 day vacation up to Show Low was one of our best vacations ever! Even Tim said that was true for him. It was nothing spectacular, just good, clean fun! Relaxing, yet not boring. Fun, yet not busy. And the kids all behaved & got along...maybe that's what made it awesome! Plus the fact that we hadn't done too much as a family for a year due to Tim's hospitalizations, sicknesses & lack of vacation time left. We went to a very fancy restaurant. Savannah had been learning in school about etiquette in a place like this, so she was able to practice it & keep the boys in line. This place also had a live band out back, so afterwards we went out there & sat around the fire and danced a little. We all played frisbee golf. My time to reminisce about Dawson.

No matter what I do, my children just keep getting older! I tell them they aren't allowed to. I don't give them big parties. Nothing works. :-0 I so vividly remember the first days with him in our family. Savannah & Hunter were thrilled to have a baby in our house. My little thumb sucker. I have to say, Dawson is just so full of life & personality & odd thoughts & sayings. He's very imaginative and thoughtful & caring and the next minute he's pestering someone out of their mind! He's unpredictable most of the time. He will always find the loop-hole to the rule & find a way to do something naughty that there wasn't a rule made up for yet.
